Conservation volunteering in the Galapagos islands
Our conservation volunteering project in the Galapagos Islands is based on San Cristobal. Here, you live in harmony with nature, and you meet all kind of animals: giant tortoises (including newborns), marine iguanas, sea lions, a thousand species of tropical fish, pelicans, flamingos, and many other species of birds.
In these volcanic islands it’s summer all year round, landscapes range from harsh lunar to the colorful and picturesque: white sandy beaches and a crystalline sea in all possible shadows of blue, lava rocks, and cacti, along with enchanting fishing villages.
Join our Galapagos conservation placement and live in a world-famous paradise! Help us to protect nature and animals in the famous Galapagos National Park.
Conservation volunteering activities in the Galapagos
We work together with a local association, which is part of the Galapagos National Park organization. Activities include:
Giant tortoise protection
At the Giant Tortoise Breeding Centre, you will help out with:
- feeding the giant turtoises,
- growing and cutting Otoy plants needed for the tortoises’ food,
- maintaining the fences and the enclosures.
Wild animals monitoring
Together with expert conservationist you will:
- collect data for the national park on sea lions, marine iguanas and petrels.
Clean-up and education programs
- You will participate in environmental education and "activism" programs for local children and also help with beach clean up.
You don’t need any specific qualifications or experience to volunteer on our conservation project. Our experienced staff will guide and teach you all you need. It’s going to be the perfect combination of theory and physical work!

We are a team of people with more than thirty years of experience in organizing volunteer and internship placements abroad. We are committed to sustainable projects and are proud of the positive impact we see day after day. We believe in the value of our programs for the environment, for the communities in which we operate, and for the people who participate.
We ourselves have been volunteers. We know what is needed to make sure that you can have an extraordinary experience. We guarantee support and tutoring, wherever they are needed, so that each volunteer can make a real contribution. This is an opportunity for discovery, personal growth, and awareness. There are many people who have told us how living and working with us has changed their lives. We believe this individual change can also have positive effects on larger changes in the world.
