Community project in Sri Lanka

We offer 2 humanitarian projects in Sri Lanka:

1. WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT:
This humanitarian association works to improve the condition of women in Sri Lanka, influenced by culture, colonial history, and post-independence politics. The association focuses on teaching English to boost women's confidence and enhance their job prospects, especially for those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Volunteer Missions:
Basic English classes are taught to women in small groups in the afternoons for 2 hours, Monday to Friday. Volunteers are expected to prepare (1-2 hours per day) to teach these classes in a friendly spirit. Although volunteers can seek help from the team for preparation, they are responsible for planning. The sessions take place in a well-equipped center. The classes focus on oral exchanges with grammatical foundations and use techniques such as role-playing.

2. EDUCATIONAL MISSION WITH CHILDREN:
This program is available for individuals aged 16 and above.

1. Childcare in Nursery:
Volunteers assist local educators in nurseries for children aged 3 to 6. Activities include helping with meals, organizing creative and musical workshops, supervising outdoor activities, and ensuring the smooth running of schedules. The tasks aim at sensory development and the overall growth of the children.

2. Educational Mission in Sri Lanka:
Aimed at experienced educators, this program seeks to academically support children aged 6 to 12 in math, English, arts, and crafts. Volunteers use playful and interactive methods to teach. Teaching English is crucial, and a unique opportunity to teach in a temple of young Buddhist monks is offered.

In both educational programs, activities include teaching, games, progress monitoring, teacher training, and creating a fun and safe learning environment using educational materials.
