Wildlife training in South Africa

Through two projects immersed in the South African bush, you will learn to navigate this environment and acquire the basics of survival.
During your stay, you will spend a significant part of your day tracking animals on foot or in a 4x4 within the reserve. The site is a vast nature reserve covering an area of 25,000 hectares and is located in the Lowveld region, a conservation hotspot in South Africa.
This is a unique opportunity for those who want to go beyond simply visiting a game reserve. Each participant in this program will have the chance to gain a true savannah experience in its wildest and most unexpected form: elephants wandering through the campsite, tropical heat, and surprisingly cold nights in winter. If you love nature and want to participate in the protection of endangered species in Africa, this project is for you!

Two projects are offered:

Big 5 Project:
This project focuses specifically on monitoring and researching all the animals in the reserve. Monitoring visits are conducted in the morning and afternoon, primarily in a 4x4. The tracking coincides with the periods of increased activity of specific animals. During the drier winter months, there are several hides at water points that allow you to observe different animals and their interactions up close. Volunteers are also responsible for maintenance work within the camp and the reserve as a whole.

Endangered Species Project:
This project specifically focuses on endangered species and is aimed at the more adventurous among you. You will embark on observation missions on foot with our anti-poaching team in search of rhinos, cheetahs, and other endangered species: it’s an incredible way to experience the bush! During the dry winter months, we use several hides located at water holes, allowing you to observe the animals more closely. You will spend a few nights camping in the bush.
